About Yami Yaki
We are a small, family-owned Japanese style restaurant that specializes in customizable teppanyaki plates along with sushi and poke bowls.
Yami Yaki is a pan-asian restaurant in Los Angeles, California. It is listed at 1530 S Alameda St Ste 10, Los Angeles, CA 90021, which places it among the local businesses of Los Angeles that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Los Angeles, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 amβ8 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (213) 481-5878. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is yamiyakila.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 224 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pan-asian restaurants in Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

What an amazing surprise! The food is excellent. The spice level is just right. Make sure you tell them what spice level you want. The meats are all super fresh the way this place works. Is you pick out what you want and they cook it for you kind of like a Japanese version of Mongolian barbecue. The place is super clean even the bathroom is clean. Canβt wait to drive by here again.

First time to visit! The foods were soo good and owners were so nice and sweet! Itβs also fun they have a custom teppanyaki (or yakisoba) system in there with their signature sauces! Definitely gonna visit there again! They recently moved to here from Echo Park area so the inside place looked different from the past pics if itβs helpful for yβall :)

I did not expect such an outstanding experienceβthe food was not only delicious but arrived remarkably quickly. I ordered rice with shrimp, vegetables, and tofu, and the gracious hosts even surprised me with complimentary gyoza, which were excellent. The hospitality was exceptionally warm, making me feel like a longtime friend rather than a first-time guest. I will definitely be making a special trip to return.

Never judge a book by its cover, nor a street corner by its holes and exposed wires. This is the best sushi you will find for the price, produced by the nicest owners you can find. Too often you will find establishments that embody "all sizzle, no steak." Not here. Each plate is made with passion and care with the food being the number one focus. Want to be cared for as a customer with a delicious and affordable menu? Make the trip down, because it has certainly left ME hungry for more.

We visited the small Japanese restaurant Yami Yaki with our family and were absolutely amazed! This place is truly unique. The food is prepared by a wonderful woman, occasionally assisted by a man, and you can feel the love they put into every dish. One of the most interesting aspects of this place is that you get to choose your own ingredients, and they cook them for you. I had never seen anything like this before, but it turned out to be a really fun and engaging experience. We tried as many dishes as possible, and every single one was absolutely delicious! Although the restaurant doesnβt have much of an interior, the food more than makes up for it. Everything is fresh and incredibly flavorful. The service is exceptionalβthe woman who runs the place is kind, attentive, and genuinely cares about her guests. What impressed me the most was seeing children helping out, serving food with the sweetest smiles and such care, which is rare to find in the U.S. We were beyond satisfied with the food, the atmosphere, the service, and the prices. This is one of those hidden gems youβll want to return to again and again. Highly recommend!
